Birdland Community Hero
Baltimore Orioles name Lori Edwards, JCC’s Board President, a “Birdland Community Hero” in July 24, 2016. Dr. Lori Edwards was recognized for her devotion to the public health community in Baltimore City. She serves as President of the Board for the Julie Community Center, which is a nonprofit organization located in Fells Point that is dedicated to improving educational access and opportunity in the city. Edwards, who was previously with the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, also helped set up health education programs in Libya following the civil war there.
